Nigerians are among the most docile people in the world. They often fold their hands, relax, and watch as their political and religious leaders destroy their future and drag them backward.
They make jokes and smile while their land is being destroyed. Instead of seeking solutions, they look for ways to illegally adjust when the economy fails.
They show little or no interest in solving collective problems; all they seem to care about is singing praises to those who cause the problem to secure a piece of bread.
They disregard the country’s future, its glory, and honor. They take delight in celebrating failure as long as it aligns with their tribal, religious, or political interests at the moment.
And after watching the destruction of their country and indirectly encouraging the downfall of their economy, they pack their bags and run to someone else’s country. They lack interest or belief in rebuilding their own country, choosing instead to watch as others fight and die to build their nation. Then they are the first to seek a visa to immigrate there.
Nigerians often say that Nigeria is not a country, but they never fight to make it one. Instead, they quickly run to countries that others fought hard to build, and they join in praising those who fought for those nations.
When someone tries to rally people to fight for Nigeria, that person is often seen as senseless. They even stage counter-protests against those advocating for a better Nigeria, only to return home and pray for divine intervention.
Meanwhile, countries like Benin and Burkina Faso are working hard to rebuild and develop their nation. At the same time, Nigerians are busy defending a failed government that they should have voted out of office. Ironically, they will be the ones to seek to escape to Benin and Burkina Faso next, once they have developed.
In this modern age, while countries like China and Japan are improving in various sectors, Nigerians often choose to migrate to Europe to work as slaves, instead of going to China to learn what is good. China is a better help to Africans than Europe; Europe seeks only to exploit Africans, while China cares only about fair business and trade. Yet Nigerians still prefer Europe and imitate its bad behavior; they usually choose negative and immoral behaviors and bring them home.
In conclusion, Nigeria’s problems are Nigerians themselves. The government is so corrupt and has failed so completely because the people seem to want it that way. Therefore, Nigeria will not change until Nigerians change.
If you are a Nigerian, remember this: if you don’t fight to make your country better in any way you can, nobody will do it for you, and no one is coming to save you. Nigeria’s salvation lies in the hands of its people.
Nothing is more impactful than a united people determined to change their lives. Stop taking undue advantage of a corrupt and illiterate government to exploit and harm fellow Nigerians. Stand your ground for a better Nigeria, even if you stand alone. Unite with others who also strive for a better future. Remember, a new Nigeria is possible.
