A tithe is not a New Testament thing.

Some Christian denominations believe they no longer need to pay tithes, and they may be right, because God does not need your Tithe to bless you. However, your Tithe can open doors of blessings for you if only you tithe rightly and faithfully. As you continue reading this book, you will see the right and proper way to pay tithes. And also, don’t forget this: the fact that you Tithe does not make you holy or better than the rest of the congregation.

The Tithe is an Old Testament term. It was the gifts that the Israelites were required to pay. Nowadays, we generally use it as just a way of saying to give 10% of your income to God. The New Testament did not teach much about tithing because, as a follower of Jesus, you are generally expected to be generous. Therefore, you can be a generous Christian without paying your Tithe to any Church and still be better in the eyes of God than someone who pays Tithe to a Church and is not generous.

Be cautious of those who encourage you to believe that you’re required to give 10% of your income to the Church in order to be a child of God or a good Christian worthy of blessings. They are scammers.

Someone asked, “Are you now saying we don’t need to tithe?”

I am not saying you shouldn’t tithe. I am saying that there is nothing wrong with not tithing the way today’s churches and pastors are demanding of you. It is not a sin if you don’t turn your so-called Tithe over to the church or the pastor. The act of tithing in the Old Testament was intended to teach the Israelites how to be generous, but in the New Testament, Jesus taught us a better way to be generous. You don’t necessarily need to call it Tithe, seed sowing, first fruit, love offering, or any other name whatsoever. These days, many fake pastors solicit money collections in their churches under various names to facilitate multiple offerings.

We must understand that anything related to God is blessed. So, if you, as a Christian, must tithe according to the Bible, there is nothing wrong with it at all. You will truly be blessed if you do it right. Otherwise, it’s just a waste of your money. So many Christians have wasted money on the church without any blessing. The only person blessed is the pastor, who is siphoning the offering.

I encourage you to get the book “Tithe Untold“, and you will see and understand the proper way to tithe and be blessed. Don’t forget, the best thing you can ever do as a Christian is to be generous to everyone, especially those of the household of faith, beginning with your family.

Do you need to tithe?

Yes, God demands it, and it is also a sign of love and respect for God. When you tithe according to the Bible, you will truly be blessed. But if you do it according to your pastor, you won’t be blessed at all; it will just be a waste of your hard-earned money. Therefore, it is better not to tithe than to tithe the way your pastor commands.

Check yourself and be honest with yourself; since you have been tithing for years, can you genuinely say you have been blessed like the Bible said: “The opening of the windows of heaven to bless you, that there will not be room enough for it?” No, because you are still struggling with a regular blessing like every ordinary person. What do you think you have as a tither: people who don’t Tithe have more than you, live healthier and longer than you, are more prosperous than you, and even have more opportunities than you do. Why? These people have been tithing as God directed, but they are unaware of it. Here you are, following your pastor’s commands, with little or nothing to show for it.

Turn your tithes to God, and you will truly be blessed. God said, “Bring your tithe into my storehouse so that there will be meat in my house.” He did not say, “into the church bank account or to your pastor or priest, but into my storehouse, He said. The second part, “so that there will be meat or food in my house.” He did not say a big building, cars, or jets for your pastor, security guards for your pastor, or any of these things your pastor is spending the money on, but meat. What is meat? Food for people to eat and be satisfied.

The storehouse is a department in the temple where offerings and tithes from the people are stored and later distributed by the Levites to themselves, the priests, and others, including orphans and widows. Also, in the time of the apostles Paul and Peter, following Christ’s teaching, they distributed it immediately to everyone as needed. Jesus said:

Then shall they also answer, saying, “Lord, when saw you hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? “

Then shall he answer them, saying, “Verily I say unto you,

In as much as ye did it not unto one of these least,

ye did it not unto me.

Matt 25:44-45 ASV

The food in the storehouse was directly distributed to those who needed it. They did not even need to gather it and store it in the storehouse. They distributed it immediately after the service or meeting.

Neither was there anyone among them that lacked. For as many as were possessors of lands or houses, they sold them and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

And laid them down at the apostles’ feet:

and distribution was made

unto every man according as he had need.

Acts 4:34-35 KJV

So dear reader, if your church does not have this type of storehouse that Jesus talked about and his apostle demonstrated, it will be wise and more profitable for you to take your Tithes to an orphanage home, or use it to pay your neighbor or family member’s school fees or rent if they cannot afford it. You can also use it to help your friend’s business, or simply keep sowing it into the lives of different people you believe need help every month. If you do this faithfully, you will truly be blessed with the kind of blessing Malachi 3:10 talked about.
