This article highlights how VDM’s attitudes can aid your success in business and your career.
VDM has also become a symbol of justice. Many underestimate him and attempt to undermine his efforts, but he continues to rise. When people face problems, they reach out to him instead of calling the police. Citizens, when dealing with difficult issues, often turn to VDM rather than going to court. Even law enforcement listens to him, and politicians are wary of him because he has exposed many injustices.
So why do people turn to him in times of need? The answer is simple: they see him as a symbol of justice, which is simply the act of doing the right thing; it has nothing to do with being holy.
Imagine a country where citizens cannot call the police when their rights are threatened by so-called “big men” and instead feel more comfortable reaching out to VDM. In a society where many may be unable to trust pastors who might take advantage of them, they report their matters to VDM. Society has come to view him as a symbol of righteousness—a beacon of justice for the oppressed. All government agencies take him seriously. In all honesty, how many people in Nigeria actively seek the interests and betterment of others and the country without personal gain?
Now, let’s explore the qualities of VDM that I aim to bring to your attention.
Kill Fear
What is fear, and why do you want it dead? Fear hinders you from taking a step forward; it is the internal voice that tells you that you can’t do it.
Fear can stem from experiences—what you’ve witnessed and how you’ve seen others fail. These experiences can instill fear, making you believe that you, too, will fail. It can also originate from other people who discourage your efforts by telling you that your aspirations are pointless, that nobody will appreciate your work, or that you should give up. Negative individuals can easily inject fear into you.
Someone once told me that I wasn’t a good writer and that nobody knew me, urging me to stop writing. Their discouragement affected me so deeply that I was afraid to write for quite some time. Eventually, I gathered the courage to write again. Today, I have books on Amazon—some people buy them, and while some may not like them, I have managed to break through that barrier of fear. Remember, not everyone is meant to like or approve of what you’re doing, so ignore those who criticize your efforts and focus on those whose energy inspires you.
When you pay attention to fear—whether it comes from within or externally—you won’t be able to accomplish anything. Take VDM, for instance; many people don’t approve of what he is doing, perhaps because it challenges them. However, VDM is not afraid of anyone; he doesn’t care if people like him or not; he seeks what is right and pursues it. His actions have helped and blessed many people. The world appreciates him for that. If he let the opinions of a few deter him, he wouldn’t have achieved the success he has today.
So, the first step when you have a plan is to “kill your fear before it kills your dream.” That is exactly what VDM has mastered. Before taking any steps, he makes sure to conquer his fears. Remember, God did not give you a spirit of fear, so if you’re feeling it, it doesn’t come from God; make sure to eliminate it.
VDM knows that law enforcement agencies may arrest him, yet he still acts because he believes his actions are just. He understands that some people may hate him or oppose him, but that does not stop him from calling out those whom he can prove to be oppressive or evil. His lack of fear has made him a force for good and justice, especially against those who seek to do harm. Yes, they may resent him, but they cannot harm him because he is fearless, making it easier for God to protect and use him. God dwells in the hearts of those who know no fear and who have the courage to do what is right.
You, too, can achieve success in your business if you understand how to conquer the fears that confront you and have the courage to take the necessary steps. You will succeed even more if you have the boldness to pursue that success—whether it be a job, a trade, a hustle, or a position God has given you to fight against injustice and stand for what is right, even in the face of ill-gotten gains.
It doesn’t matter how saturated a business is; if God calls you into it and you can eliminate the fear of “I can’t,” “it won’t work,” “I’m too old,” or “I don’t have enough capital,” you will be unstoppable.
Whatever you aspire to achieve, don’t let fear stop you; don’t plan or make decisions based on fear. Don’t underestimate your small beginnings. Run your plans, conduct thorough and professional assessments, ignore fear, trust God, take action, and watch how things will turn out.
So, the first lesson from VDM’s success is to never be afraid of any venture. No matter what that venture may be—politics, business, education, or personal growth—plan, set your purpose and objectives, and face it head-on.
You don’t run from fear.
Never run from fear; instead, confront it. What happens will happen. VDM faces his fears; do you think he is free of fear? Of course not! Yet, he never allows his fears to dictate his decisions. He knows that some cases he handles may land him in court, but that doesn’t stop him from tackling them. He understands that some situations may lead to imprisonment, but he remains steadfast. As long as he has done his homework and knows he is doing the right thing, no fear can hold him back. His courage has enabled God to always elevate him above his fears.
So face your fears and rise. You might think it’s not easy, but if you realize that fear is just an illusion that exists only in your mind, you can let strength prevail. With a mind untainted by fear and free from evil, you will be invincible.
Take It at Its Worst
Whatever problems or challenges you are facing, approach them by considering the worst-case scenario. Learn how to do this, and you will be well-prepared for anything that comes your way. This is how VDM addresses any situation—he doesn’t approach it with fear; instead, he takes it at its worst.
When confronted with challenges, evaluate the worst possible outcome and plan for it. Do you think VDM enjoys going to court, prison, or dealing with the EFCC? Of course not; he doesn’t like trouble. Yet, he is always prepared for the worst. When he confronts these difficulties and ultimately triumphs over them, it is because he was ready.
So, whatever you do, always be prepared for the worst, even if you are hoping for the best or have arranged everything to achieve a positive outcome. By being ready for any eventuality, nothing will surprise you. Additionally, you will always be one step ahead of your enemies or rivals.
Evidence Tracking
He typically supports his claims with screenshots, voice notes, timelines, and documents.
In business applications, it’s essential to cultivate the habit of not relying solely on intuition. Instead, engage in systematically collecting, organizing, and utilizing evidence to support decisions, claims, and actions before taking actual action.
When it comes to decision-making, rather than saying, “I think this will work or not,” adopt a strategy based on the evidence available. Ask yourself insightful questions such as: What data supports this? What happened the last time we tried something similar? And what metrics changed after the decision?
Once you have conducted your calculations and answered these questions, only then can you finalize your decision and take appropriate action.
Acceptance of Responsibilities and Consequences
Arrests, threats, and backlash — instead of deterring him, they have amplified his credibility. Many followers view him as someone who “pays the price for truth.”
A man who wants to succeed doesn’t make excuses for his failures; he accepts them, learns from them, and tries again. He doesn’t run from challenges because things didn’t turn out as expected. You never see VDM shying away from any case, even when it becomes a police matter that could land him in prison. He is stubborn and strong-headed for the right reasons. He doesn’t stop or quit due to obstacles; he stops only when he is done.
Honesty and Integrity
Don’t get it twisted; he is not perfect. He definitely has his flaws, but he is very honest about what he is doing. He genuinely cares about people and fights for them whenever and wherever he can, without seeking anything in return. If he says he is going to get something done, he will definitely follow through. People have come to recognize this and trust him, except for those who dislike him for no reason.
Most Africans nowadays, especially in Nigeria, don’t believe in or uphold integrity. In Nigeria, you can’t trust politicians with public funds; they steal with impunity and make excuses for their actions. They don’t care about their names, reputations, or offices as long as they can steal without getting caught. The same applies to some pastors, who misappropriate church money while pretending to carry out divine work, are involved in immoral activities, and perform fake miracles. They disregard honor or integrity as long as they remain undetected. However, it is important to note that not all pastors fall into this category; many are genuine and faithful, and they will be blessed by God. Unfortunately, the deceitful ones are so numerous that they overshadow the authentic pastors.
The same issue arises with certain celebrities and social media influencers who sell their platforms to the highest bidder, regardless of whether that person is spreading lies or engaging in wrongdoing. They prioritize money over justice, and even when approached with a legitimate case, they may still charge for their assistance and fail to deliver justice.
But VDM is different from them. He fights for justice in every case for free, using all his resources and platform, and yet he faces hatred for it. VDM has become more successful because he refuses to compromise his honor or integrity for anyone. Despite maintaining his integrity, he is still targeted. Recently on X, someone posted a photo of multiple half-eaten apples as a metaphor suggesting that VDM doesn’t complete his cases. However, numerous cases that VDM has resolved were not mentioned, nor were the individuals he fought for justice acknowledged. Critics flooded the comments with negative and hateful remarks in an attempt to tarnish his reputation, but none could substantiate any wrongdoing on his part.
When one values money above all else, their integrity is at stake.
VDM’s integrity is as strong as a rock and cannot be compromised by money. That’s why people trust him so much that they entrust him with their money to help others. VDM has never disappointed them; it has never been heard that he ran away with anyone’s money. Good people trust him more than charity organizations, the police, or even the government. They rely on him to deliver justice.
To achieve success in your line of business or in any endeavor, demonstrate integrity and inspire confidence in others. When people say that you have integrity, they will trust you, want to do business with you, stay loyal to you, and be willing to work with you. Integrity is the only thing that will take you far when everything else fails.
Generosity
Giving is rewarded only by God, as He knows your true intentions. Many people give because they have wronged others or committed evil deeds, thinking that their generosity will make up for their wrongs. But it doesn’t work that way; a person reaps what they sow. Some give for political reasons, while others seek fame or expect a reward later.
However, when you give with a sincere heart—without expecting anything in return—your generosity will pave the way for your success in whatever you pursue. It is a natural law.
Learn to be a giver rather than a taker. You don’t need to have everything to give; you can start with the little you have. Being a giver doesn’t mean you need to search for beggars to donate to. Giving to beggars doesn’t make you a generous person; it simply makes you a client. Begging is their livelihood, and no matter how much you give, they will still be there tomorrow looking for more.
The right way to give is to support those who are genuinely in need—to help them settle their current challenges so they can improve their lives and make progress. VDM typically doesn’t give to beggars; he prefers to assist those who truly need help to enhance their circumstances, businesses, and current situations.
