When Lagos was a city teeming with music, life, and the delightful aroma of coffee, jazz could be heard on nearly every street corner. People moved about happily, eager to discover new experiences. Among them was Aria, who had just returned from the US.

One afternoon, Aria walked into Oland Café, a nice coffee shop known for its strong coffee and other nice things, including music. She is a beautiful Black American woman with deep brown eyes and a calm spirit. As an artist, Aria often captured the richness of culture everywhere she goes through her paintings.

That day, she came to the café looking for inspiration. She sat quietly in the corner with a cup of coffee in her hands, listening to the soft sound of jazz playing in the background.

As she looked around the café, she noticed a young couple sitting nearby. They were laughing together like nothing else in the world mattered. Watching them reminded Aria of the days when love had inspired her art. Without even thinking, she picked up a napkin and began sketching them.

Her pencil moved easily across the paper, capturing their smiles and happiness.

Behind the counter was a man named Ola. Most people thought he was just the humble barista serving coffee with a warm smile, but Ola was actually the café’s owner. Even though he owned the shop, he still worked alongside his staff every day because he loved the place and the people who came there.

Ola noticed Aria drawing and became curious. He walked over to her table, wiping his hands on his apron.

“What are you drawing?” Ola asked gently.

Aria smiled and showed him her drawing on a napkin.

Ola looked at the sketch, and his eyes lit up with amazement. “Wow! You really captured their happiness. How is it possible for you to draw so comfortably on a table napkin?”

His words touched Aria deeply, and she smiled. There was something honest and warm about him that made her feel comfortable.

The two of them started talking.

Aria told him about her life, her struggles, and how art helped her survive difficult times. As she spoke, her hands moved naturally in the air, like she was painting invisible pictures with her words. Her eyes sparkled with emotion, and every part of her story felt real and heartfelt.

Ola listened carefully, never interrupting her. He admired her passion and strength.

Then he shared his own dream with her. He said he wanted every cup of coffee he served to make people feel comfortable, at peace, and inspired. He believed coffee could bring people together and heal tired hearts.

The more they talked, the more connected they felt.

As the evening grew darker and the golden lights of the café glowed softly around them, Aria realized she didn’t want the conversation to end.

Then, during their conversation, she discovered something surprising.

“You own this café?” she asked, shocked.

Ola laughed shyly and nodded. “Yeah. I’ve owned it for a few years now.”

Aria looked at him differently after that moment. She admired how humble he was. Even with success, he still served customers himself, cleaned tables, and treated everyone kindly.

That made her fall for him even more.

And without realizing it, Ola had already fallen deeply in love with her too.

From that day on, Aria visited the café more often, not just for the coffee or the music, but for Ola. Together, they shared stories, dreams, laughter, and quiet moments that slowly turned into love.

In the heart of Lagos, between jazz songs and the rich smell of coffee beans, Aria found something she was not expecting when she walked into that café that day. She found home in Ola’s heart.
